About This Project

Staunton, VA – 35,113 sf

The Obaugh Auto Group negotiated with General Motors to add a Chevrolet dealership to their Buick/GMC dealership in Staunton.  This necessitated the renovation of the previous Obaugh Mazda dealership showroom adjacent to the Obaugh Buick/GMC dealership showroom, which was just one phase of this three-part project.  The Buick/GMC facility was also renovated to create a new customer lounge and training area, and a third, major portion of this project was construction of a new free-standing parts and service center with attached car wash.

Our team worked very closely with the client to design and build the new parts and service center with car wash.  The main facility is a 120’ x 130’ pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) and the car wash is a 30’ x 52’ masonry addition.  The 16-bay service center, parts department, restrooms, breakroom, and car wash total 17,238 sf.

To create the new Chevrolet showroom, the former Mazda showroom was completely gutted and renovated, which included construction of steel-framed additions on the back and side.  The new showroom consists of 5,290 sf of renovated space and 572 sf of new space.  A 3,975 sf addition built on the back contains offices, restrooms, a breakroom, and the new Chevrolet customer lounge.  Another 4,260 sf masonry and steel-framed addition that connects and serves both dealerships contains a service write up drive-through area.  This portion of the project involved 14,097 sf.

Lastly, the former Buick/GMC parts department and service bay areas were renovated to create a 1,739 sf Buick/GMC customer lounge adjacent to the new service write-up area and a dual dealership training room that is 2,039 sf in size for a total renovation of 3,778 sf.
