About This Project

Harrisonburg, VA – 21,500 sq. ft.

JMU’s “D-Hub” is a tensioned fabric structure that serves as temporary “swing” space as needed; therefore renovations, such as this conversion from a dining facility to a library, are periodically required to repurpose it for each new use.

This project involved framing in six new offices, a meeting room, restroom, and a kitchenette, construction of an ADA ramp and dock, new flooring where walls were removed, installation of an access-controlled security cage for high value materials, and an expansion of the maintenance area for JMU’s “Starship” fleet (six-wheeled robots that deliver food and other goods around campus).
